How to Get Rid of German Roaches by Solutions Pest Control

By Vincent Hoss

00:00:07
Hey you’re those pesky insects and other varmints bothering you you’ve come to the right place
00:00:13
solutions has the solution to your problem hey my name is Keith McCoy I’m with solution self chem if your
00:00:20
do-it-yourself or like myself hey you’ve come to the right place we have the answers to your problem cockroaches the
00:00:26
prehistoric animal in the insect world hey there’s a number of different species of cockroaches one thing in
00:00:33
common they need moisture warmth darkness and a food source come with me let’s take a look at one of these houses
00:00:41
that’s got some roaches let’s go take care of that problem first type of application we’re going to make is using
00:00:48
contact insecticide roaches live and breed in cracks and crevices here we’re in the kitchen first thing we’re going
00:00:55
to do is we’re going to remove all of the dishes we’re going to locate the voids and cracks and crevices and we’re
00:00:59
going to use a product called invader take this product we’re going to inject it inside the crack hoping that we get
00:01:08
roaches to flush out if they don’t come out don’t waste your time there move on to another crack remember we’re hunting
00:01:15
them they’re not hunting us once you’ve completed that we can use a product called defense dust we’re going to take
00:01:21
this product and blow it up underneath all appliances refrigerator dishwasher oven and then we’re finished this dust
00:01:30
actually will lay down on the floor roaches crawl over it pick it up on their legs and on their feet when they
00:01:37
go back to the nest and groom themselves they ingest it kills them on contact and also the stomach poison once you have
00:01:44
completed this application then we can use a spray you want to get a pump sprayer you want to use product called
00:01:50
seismic CS and gin troll mix these two products in your sprayer pump it up spray along your baseboards and also
00:01:59
inside your cabinets and all the corners the second type of application you can do is using baits I suggest using a
00:02:05
product called Magnum this is a gel bait comes in a reservoir you want to enter your cat
00:02:11
again and you want to apply this bait in all the corners because we’re using a bait mash you come to and feed on it
00:02:18
it’s not necessary that we cover the entire surface area so when you apply it apply it about the size of a green pea
00:02:24
and you want to spread it out maybe every three to four feet in different areas of the cabinetry once they come
00:02:30
and they feed on this product they will actually go back to their nest when they defecate other members of the family of
00:02:37
cockroaches and in earlier generations will feed on their feces so you get this domino effect of kill so you wipe the
00:02:43
entire colony out it’s pretty neat hey I’m Keith McCoy with solution self Kim asked us how to do it yourself

RV Pest Control
00:00:01
– Are you worried about unwanted guests in your RV? – We’re not talking about guests like cousin Eddie or someone like that, what we’re talking about is rodents, spiders, insects the Creepy crawlers. – Yeah. We’ve not had any problems in almost three years, and we’re gonna share our secrets with you now.
00:00:16
(cheerful upbeat music) We wanted to cover this topic, because we see it asked a lot online. – Yeah, and we actually get this question a lot about how do we keep pests out of our RV. Also, we want you to stay till the end of this video, because we have a couple of updates to share with you about our channel, so stay tuned for that. But let’s get into talking about what we do to keep pests out.
00:00:46
Before we ever even got RV, and we were in the research stages of it all, I started hearing horror stories about rodents and insects, their horror stories, okay. (chuckles) And that’s– – Nobody likes to find out a mouse in their house. – [Tara] No, and that was something that I said, “We gotta take care of this, right away” – [Chad] Yeah, because obviously you’re out and you’re in camp grounds, you’re a boondock, and who knows where you are or what kind of rodents might be in that area. But rodents can fit through like dime sized holes, – The tinniest of cracks yeah. – The can squeeze down, and mush their selves into things. – (chuckles) Right. – Gross.
00:01:19
– This also, doesn’t just effect part-time RVers, this affects full-time RVers as well. – Equally both I would think. I mean, if your RV is stored, obviously there are some precautions you would take that are different than a full time RVer.
00:01:32
– Right, and we’ll touch base on those in just a little bit. – So, while we can’t guarantee these particular methodologies are going to work for you, they have 100% works for us.
00:01:42
– Yeah, we have not had a single rodent, we’ve barely had a spider, we’ve barely had insects, other than if we have the doors open, – Bugs fly in. – Let’s say it’s traveled day, and we have some flies coming in or something like that. – [Chad] Never a single ant in the house, never a single roach. – You know, we get the occasional like gnat– – Flies. – Or housefly or something like that, that’s usually our fault for leaving a door open or something. – [Chad] A spider now and again, because those are coming off trees and stuff, and coming in different ways. – Yeah, but very rarely really. – Very rarely. So, we’re gonna share with you our top tips.
00:02:12
Number one is fill gaps. – Yes. – So, you’re gonna get your RV and it’s gonna have Coroplast or something underneath of it. And there are gonna be holes in that Coroplast, where your spare tire goes, where you have your dump valves, other various things. So, you’re gonna wanna get up under your RV with some stuff called Good Stuff, and you wanna get the Pest block variety. Good stuff, is that spray foam insulation stuff. – [Tara] That hardens. – [Chad] Yeah. And you know, I got up under our RV, by our spare tire and other places, and you just sprayed it up in there, and let it expand until– – [Tara] You didn’t really find many places. – [Chad] No. – [Tara] Where there were gaps, but for my mental peace he did it anyhow. – Yeah.
00:02:54
I basically filled over other filling just like a tell her, “Yeah, I filled it.” (chuckles) – Right, and then you also wanna check in your basements, and even in the outside of your RV, and just look for any places, where you think that a critter might be able to squeeze their way. – Additionally, on the inside of your RV, anywhere that there’s plumbing coming through from the basement area to the living area, under your sinks primarily, get in there, look around. Usually there’s pretty big gaps in there, that way if you happen to get any past in your basement, there are at least blocked from going to level three, which is into your home. (chuckles) That’s pretty easy. You can usually get away with just one can of that stuff, and go around and fill everything up. – Right. – Also make sure your Coroplast is tacked in on the sides, and critters can’t get in from the edges. – So, the next thing that we did, and we actually did this before we even moved into the RV, was I started buying up like pest repellent stuff. I didn’t buy too much, but what we did was we did the little botanical pouches. There are a couple of different brands there’s Stay Away, there’s Fresh Cab.
00:03:57
We’ve had good results with the Stay Away brand, and it’s available in spider repellent, roach repellent, rodent repellent, ant repellent. We’ve purchased the rodent and spider, and have we done the ants? – I think we have some ant stuff too, but– – Yeah, we haven’t really had a need for it, so I think maybe we bought it once. And what we do is we just take those little pouches, and we put them throughout the RV, in different areas where we think would be the most effective. So, in the garage, by the patio door, I usually keep a couple there. – [Chad] Tuck them in corners. – [Tara] Tuck them in corners, yeah. And we just have them spread out throughout the RV, and then we change them out every couple months or so. – We also take some of these spider repellent bags, and I’ll put those up higher, because typically that’s where spiders are gonna come in. So, we’ve got those on top of the bunk, in the office, slash guestroom, slash garage. And we also have some in the bedroom, like up behind the TV, just places you can tuck them in up higher. – [Tara] And up in the attic. Well, we call it the attic, but it’s the little loft sleeping area, yeah. And then the last thing that we bought were those ultrasonic pest repellent devices. I don’t know if they work you guys, but we have one in the garage, one in the kitchen area and one in the bedroom. – And one in the basement. – And one in the basement. that’s right, I forgot about that one. And they’re bright white, so I just took some black electrical tape, and wrapped it all around it, so that it kind of blends into the dark woods, just so it’s not as obnoxious. But I don’t know if these things work, but we haven’t had an issue. Knock on wood and I hope we’re not jinxing ourselves.
00:05:29
– And the last thing that we do is we turn on our underbelly lights. We have blue LEDs under there, and we think that probably helps quite a bit also. – We have heard that a lot of people do this. We actually have some good friends of ours who found a mouse in their house, in their garbage can underneath their sink. And they were kind of freaking out because they were like, “Well, what do we do?” And so I gave them a list of all the products that we bought, and I also told them about filling the gaps, and turning on the lights on the underbelly. And the only thing that they did out of that list was they started turning on their lights, and they haven’t had a problem. And we’re not talking about the lights like on the front cap, ’cause I know that’s a sore topic for a lot of people. We wouldn’t leave those on all night, so don’t worry about that.
00:06:13
I’m talking about the ones strictly underneath the RV. – And if you don’t have those lights on your RV, which I know a lot of people aren’t gonna have those, we’ve seen a lot of people just use the LED rope lights, and put those around. Don’t keep them up real bright to where they’re obnoxious and they bother your neighbors, maybe you find a colored one.
00:06:29
We have the blue ones, which are pretty mild looking, you know, they’re not really obnoxious. – Yeah. And you can get those, and you can get the kind of change colors, but that might help also.
00:06:39
– And speaking of them, having a mouse in their garbage can, we did tell them to go ahead, and get a garbage can with a lid. So, we do have a garbage can with a lid on it, in the bathroom and under the sink in the kitchen. – [Chad] So, those are the four big things that we do. Some of the other obvious things that you can do is just keep it clean. – Right. You know, pick up the crumbs, don’t leave anything laying around. If you are part time and you’re storing your RV, get every last morsel of food including crumbs out of there. – Don’t leave food in the RV, even if it’s sealed box or bagged food, get everything out of there, because you know those rodents they can chew through that stuff. So, get it all out, and if you have kids and you think that maybe there’s a bunch of crumbs tucked in underneath your sofa– – (chuckles) Couch cushion. – Or something like that. You might wanna clean that too because– – You might find some change. – You might find some change. There are some other DIY methods that a lot of people talk about online, that I’ve read a lot about. And people either swear by these, or say they didn’t work at all for them. So, try them if you want. We’ve never tried it, but I’m talking things like, peppermint oil on cotton balls, put like near cracks and crevices, or anywhere you think a critter could get in. Also we hear the Irish spring soap is supposed to be a deterrent. – Fresh and clean as a whistle, that’s Irish Spring, Fresh and (whistles) clean as whistle. – I’ve actually heard other people say– – They eat it. – Yeah, that the rodents actually– – It’s delicious. – eat the soap, so I don’t know. And then we’ve also heard moth balls and dryer sheets and those things.
00:08:10
So, feel free to experiment and try the different things, whatever you wanna try, we haven’t had any experience with those.
00:08:17
– Another thing that we’ll do is after I set up camp, and if I see any ants or anything starting to crawl on our landing gear or our tires, I will put down some actual Pest block spray that we keep handy.
00:08:29
I also will put down some Diatomaceous Earth, which we just started trying recently. We’re not super sure if that’s working or not, but again why not throw a little bit of that down too. – Right, yeah. – As far as keeping it clean, also if you’re a full time RVer, keep your snack bags sealed really well, keep your cereals and things like that in Tupperware. We have a pantry organization thing that we did. We took all of stuff and put it in Tupperware, that was awesome. – Yeah. All of my grains and pastas, and all that stuff, I keep in tightly sealed plastic, thick plastic containers.
00:09:04
So, I think that that helps too, I don’t know. (chuckles) I don’t know if it does. I mean, again, these are just the things that we’ve done and we’ve had luck. – It’s probably not one or two things, it’s the combination of all of them– – Yeah. – And it’s worked for us. – Let us know, if there’s something else that we didn’t mention, that you’ve tried, that works for you, or let us know if you’ve tried any of these things, and they haven’t worked for you. We’re just curious, we wanna see what everyone else is doing out there. And this brings us to a couple of updates that we wanted to mention. – Right, first of all, you may notice this is a very short video. Typically on a holiday weekend, we just skip that week, but we wanted to put something out for you guys, even if it’s just short.
00:09:45
– We’re probably gonna do a few more of these shorter videos throughout the next couple of months, because it really helps us to– – Catch a breath. (chuckles) – Yea to catch a breath, and to give us a little bit of time to get some other things done, because our list of other things is getting longer and longer.
00:10:00
And so things related to my health issues, to other work related issues, so we just need to get some stuff done. – We are trying to do a little bit of reorganization, so we’re not working 80 hours a week each. – Yeah. (chuckles) And lastly, you might notice that our RV is not behind us. Here’s our site.
00:10:20
(chuckles) – Where did it go? – Where’s our home? – Oddly enough, this site’s empty too, but that’s Jason and Ray from “The Getaway Couples” site. – Jason and Ray are over here. – [Tara] We’ll give you a little clue. – Tom and Sheree are back here. – [Tara] Yeah. – We’ll give you a little clue, we’re in Elkhart, Indiana getting some work done. – Yeah, speaking of pests. – Speaking of pests. – Speaking of pests – There’s, get it lined up. – [Tara] We’re talking about pest control, and you just popped up. (chuckles) – Don’t worry I’m leaving. (chuckles) – That was funny. – Speaking to Tom, there he is. We are getting some cool upgrades that we can’t wait to show you guys. – [Chad] Gonna have some really cool stuff in the basement that I’m super excited about. – [Tara] And some other things too. – [Chad] And some other stuff. – So, it’s all super secret. – Super secret– – Until we tell you about it. – Coming your way soon. (chuckles) – Yeah. Oh, I know what I wanna say. Last week’s video, everybody was upset with me that I didn’t put Daisy in it. – Oh my gosh, we gotta get some Daisy. – Come here, come here, come here. And here’s a four legged little furry monster. That’s not a pest. – She is not a pest. – She’s the best. – She can be pestering, can’t you? She can pester us sometimes. – That’s only when she needs attention, because we’re spending too much time editing or something. (chuckles) Anyhow, you guys have a wonderful labor day weekend, and we will see you next week. – Yep.

Control Ants with Borax

Control Ants with Borax
Hi and welcome once again to Greg the gardener. Does this look familiar ants coming inside your house or accumulating in massive groups outside your doorways? Maybe there’s, just lines and lines of them all over the place.

They just seem to be everywhere and every time you step outside, you seem to walk back inside covered in ants. You’ve called a pest controller, but they’re, going to charge you hundreds of dollars to come out and spray them.

Let me show you a way to get rid of these household pests that will take you about five minutes and cost you about fifty cents and all using the household stain remover and disinfectant borax. So what we’ll need for this recipe is some hot water, some borax, some honey or sugar, a cup to mix it in and something to spray it on.

I’m just recycling, an old laundry container, firstly put on your kettle and ball up some water now just got a teaspoon here. So I’m. Just going to add six teaspoons of sugar, then going to add six to eight teaspoons of borax, and then I just add the boiling water you want to get it all dissolved.

Otherwise, you won’t, be able to spray it through this nozzle. I must container here I’m, also going to add some honey. Why not now? The reason I add the sugar and honey is because the ants won’t just eat the borax.

They need a reason to eat it, but they love sugar and they love honey. So you need that to attract the ants and the beauty about this borax as well, is that it dissolves completely in water and, as you can see, that is completely dissolved.

Now it’s time to let this cool for a minute before we add it into the spray pack. Ok, then, once this is cooled, you can pour it into your container. Put the lid back on oops, better wash off that sticky spillage.

Now all you have to do is spray. Your borax mix on the entrails and the ants will eat it up and die. How does the borax kill the ants? Well, I believe they digest it and it builds up a gas inside them and they explode, but I don’t really care how it kills them as long as it does so normally.

What I would do is just spray that around here as much as you want it’s more over. Here I mean these. Things are just everywhere now in a position like this. I would normally spray on top here, so it leaves like a pool of the mix and the ads will find that and will really just come and drink it all up.

I even sprayed on my plants as well – I mean they’re just everywhere these ants and they really are annoying. As you can see. This is where I sprayed some earlier, and the ants are already all over lapping it up now any ant that eats this and digests it will die.

Hopefully, it will take it back to their nest to feed the other ants and it will kill those ones as well. Here’s, where I sprayed some before as well. The ants really do just love this stuff now for ants that are inside the house.

You don & # 39. T want to be spraying this in here, because they will just attract more ads inside so find where they’re coming in and just spray. Some on the outside. This borax mix can make animals pets sick.

So you don’t want them to start licking it. So what I would normally do is I’ve got this like beer cap off a beer bottle. I’ll. Just fill that up like that, make a reservoir of the borax mix and say put a pot right in front of it and maybe a rock or a brick on top of it to stop any animals getting to it.

But the ants will find that and they will go berserk for it. Well, I hope that borax, honey and sugar tip was helpful. Do give it a try, because it really does work and will save you many many dollars thanks for watching and happy gardening, he’s, Greg the gardener.

How To Get Rid of Ants

By Vincent Hoss

eHow Garden – How To Get Rid of Ants
Hi I’m often asked how do I get rid of sugar ants well sugar ants really is a generic term for a lot of different ants
00:00:09
I’m Michael pH Enza with advantage pest control and I’m going to provide you with some information that should be
00:00:14
very helpful sugar ants like I said are kind of a generic term for any kind of an ant that goes for sweets it could be
00:00:21
the crazy ant they’re the ones that real tiny and you see them going all different directions doesn’t look like
00:00:27
there’s any rhyme or reason or it could be the odorous house aunt and the odorous house ant is kind of easily
00:00:33
identify because it’ll be a nice neat little line but they’re both going after the same thing sweets you know so the
00:00:39
sugars and syrups and anything like that not that they don’t also eat protein other ants and other bugs they’re really
00:00:47
pretty aggressive predators so how do we get rid of them well the first thing is always an integrated pest control is to
00:00:54
seal up the house you know cracks and crevices should be cocked and weather stripping put underneath doors get rid
00:01:02
of the food sources but now you need to find out first is this actually a sweet eater so you can put down just a little
00:01:09
bit of sugar or some kind of a syrup and see if they’re going towards that they are then you can put down a pesticide
00:01:17
and a safe pesticide will work here a lot of biopesticides dusts and sprays or work perfectly well put it along the
00:01:24
path that they’re following from the colony to that sugar then you can replace the sugar with a sweet bait so
00:01:32
now you’re not only killing them along the path so when they clean them groom themselves they’ll ingest the the poison
00:01:38
they’re also taking a bait back to kill off the colony this double approach I found to be very effective if you have a
00:01:45
really bad infestation coming from the outside you can put down something like a paratha riod or a pre threw in
00:01:51
time-release granules around the perimeter of the house and that’ll kill them off really really well and it’s
00:01:57
biodegradable which is really nice so hopefully this has been helpful and I’m Michael pH Enza have a good day.

Do It Yourself Pest Control

By Vincent Hoss

Do It Yourself Pest Control
Erdye’s Pest Control
00:00:01
Hey everybody Josh Erdman Early’s pest control here if you tuned in to see me let go of some kind of animal or have
00:00:07
something jump out at me you picked the wrong video today we’re going to answer some
00:00:11
questions and the number one question I get from homeowners is what is the best product that they can buy to use
00:00:18
themselves they also want to know you know why is our service different so I’m going to explain it to you real quick as
00:00:24
simple as I can the best product that you guys can purchase out there in my opinion is called ortho home defense if
00:00:31
you look here I picked up a gallon yesterday you can get it in a home repair store hardware store they sell it
00:00:37
it’s about 15 dollars a gallon now one thing a couple things I want to mention is if you look right here it
00:00:43
says 12-month control they don’t make any chemicals that we can buy as licensed contractors that lasts twelve
00:00:50
months so that’s really just some false advertising to be honest with you doesn’t hold up well I’m not not going
00:00:57
to product that I recommend this product to a lot of customers in my opinion is the best one out there however it really
00:01:02
only has a life of about thirty days and that’s on a vertical surface so you need to spray basically the wall of the
00:01:09
building if you spray it on the ground or in the mulch beds what’s going to happen is the rains going to hit it and
00:01:14
wash it out for one it basically dilutes it and to the sunlight it’s going to burn it out if it’s in direct Sun so
00:01:19
it’ll probably last a lot less I mean we’re talking a couple days some other stuff they don’t tell you unless you
00:01:26
read the real fine print or the instructions which probably nobody does is this chemical will break down very
00:01:31
rapidly under 55 degrees so why is that important well if you’re like me and you live in Wisconsin and I’m hoping
00:01:39
everyone that’s watching this is probably from Wisconsin because it doesn’t do me any good if you live in
00:01:43
Bangladesh but if you go ahead and install this stuff early in the spring you want to get it down before the
00:01:49
insects get on there we all know if you’re from Wisconsin it’s 75 80 degrees during the day in the sunlight and it’s
00:01:56
25 degrees at night we have some of the craziest weather strings up here which I personally enjoy myself
00:02:02
that’s probably why a lot of us live here however if you put it on early and it gets cold under 55 degrees it breaks
00:02:08
down very very quickly I’m talking overnight one two days chemicals done we’re going to talk about the applica
00:02:14
Asian method of this you read the instructions which are on the back of this thing they peel off here there’s a
00:02:21
bunch of instructions in there is to how they want it applied stuff to do in case of an emergency stuff like that
00:02:28
basically what it tells you to do is you’re going to spray about two feet up and about two feet out now and what that
00:02:36
is going to do is create a barrier so anything out here crawling around and and what looks like my woods I will not
00:02:43
be able to get onto the onto the building or up high under the building inside the building which is what you’re
00:02:48
trying to altum Utley you know keep from happening we’re going to wrap up this segment on ortho home defense and you
00:02:55
know what’s different from you guys doing it you do it yourselfers versus us the big difference with the way we do it
00:03:01
we’re always going to spray when the temperature is consistent in the spring we wait even if it’s an extra week we
00:03:06
take the time to wait I’m not going to spray a house and have you guys have bad results so we’ll wait till the
00:03:12
temperature is correct to spray it first of all secondly when we apply instead of following ortho sting or their two feet
00:03:17
up and two feet out what we do is we spray the entire house so everything down in the bottom here all the way up
00:03:24
we don’t spray on the windows and we catch all your soffit so everything underneath there is dead obviously if
00:03:29
you spray and you spray the the base the two feet up and two feet out you’re going to still continue to get this
00:03:35
stuff and it’ll just never go away it’ll just slowly get worse and worse until your power wash it off and you know have
00:03:42
us come out and do it so now that’s one of the big differences if you’ve got questions concerns please feel free to
00:03:48
give us a call nine to zero four five five zero three seven three check us out online

clean up and small tiny pieces can fall off something that’s very small too you may feed a roach or an ant for a week or
00:00:35
more so this is where there’s a lot of food a lot of water and is very very attractant to ants and roaches we also
00:00:43
have stored products here and therefore stored product pests your grain mods your flour beetles and grain beetles
00:00:53
will certainly be in the pantry around your grain type items and then there’s silverfish in the kitchen let’s start
00:00:59
off talking about ants and roaches and what we can do around the sink to help prevent that now for insects around the
00:01:07
sink around the stove the main problem is there’s a lot of food so you’re going to get a lot of bugs coming around to
00:01:14
eat that food a residual spray with a good chemical is going to do a lot to help decrease that population as they
00:01:21
come into the area spraying under the sink up under the bottom of the sink and even around
00:01:28
outside around doors and windows will help protect some of those tiny little cracks and crevices where ants and
00:01:35
roaches will come in to feed we also use a lot of baits these baits are formulated to mimic or in some cases be
00:01:46
better than food that you may have left around these little syringes here is an easy application device it’s actually
00:01:53
just a pistol grip are great for treating around cracks and crevices doors and windows where ants and roaches
00:02:02
may come in this is a great product our industry has made it even better by putting it into an aerosol can so really
00:02:11
we’re getting some of the same bait formulations in this aerosol can it’s just a lot easier to apply I’m actually
00:02:18
applying small bits of it right now and you can see how easy that is these baits last a long
00:02:27
time and are very attractive dance and roaches depending on the formulation it was designed for
00:02:33
there’s also dry baits drive formulations of some of the same ingredients are excellent this is
00:02:42
actually a dry powder and it’s great for dusting into holes that you can’t see into or can’t get into it’s also great
00:02:50
for getting behind switches and electrical plates because this dust will go in there and it will give ants and
00:02:57
roaches someday for a long long time now we’re going to talk about some of the other insects we may see some of the
00:03:05
stored product pests the flour beetles the grain beetles that type of thing let’s move over to the pantry and take a
00:03:11
look in there okay let’s talk a little bit about stored product pests what are stored
00:03:17
product pests well they are pests that get into the products that are typically stored grains so your grain products are
00:03:26
going to be your cereals and your crackers even spaghetti we’ll take a look here we will often find flour
00:03:33
beetles Indian grain mugs Indian meal mods I’m sorry and different grain beetles in the pantry you bring them in
00:03:41
from the grocery store some of the grocery stores even some of the producers sometimes don’t control their
00:03:48
products well enough to keep all of the products out so what do we do for those a lot of times we will use again a spray
00:03:56
can to spray appropriate chemicals in and around the pantry normally all of these products all of your food will be
00:04:04
removed and we’ll get in there to try to control any of the larvae or eggs that happen to be not inside the product that
00:04:13
they’re currently eating on the most important thing is to go through these products especially your grain products
00:04:20
here is rice will find rice weevils another stored product pests in the rice so you want to pull them out you want to
00:04:27
do a good inspection of all of the products inside the bags to see if there’s any weevils or any types of
00:04:34
beetle or larvae feeding on that product if there are you discard this get it out of the house get it sealed into a trash
00:04:41
bag and get it out once you’ve identified the products that are affected and they’re gone yeah we’re
00:04:48
going to remove these products we’re going to do a good spray treatment inside for long control long lasting
00:04:55
control we can use pheromone traps these actually will attract the adult forms of the different insects this is simply a
00:05:02
sticky trap but the key ingredient are these pheromone tablets that give off scent that will attract the insects to
00:05:10
come into these traps and get stuck on the glue traps again embark on has access to the different types of
00:05:17
pheromone attractants that are needed for the different pests and by cleaning out the food that they’re eating on by
00:05:24
doing a good residual spray it’s an easy way for embark on to get in and take care of your problem really painless
00:05:32
effort on your part let’s talk now about some silver fish and then rats and mice that we also see in the kitchen areas ok
00:05:40
silverfish get into kitchens they get into your bathrooms they eat paper they like to eat paper and they’re also
00:05:47
normally found around moisture sources silverfish normally relatively straightforward to control again proper
00:05:56
spray insecticides will help along with silverfish baits these are relatively non-toxic to us to
00:06:06
you and your children and your pets so if a dog we’re having to get into this I would not be concerned about it we just
00:06:12
place these in the drawers close the drawers let the silverfish eat their way to silverfish heaven one of the final
00:06:22
things we’re going to talk about is rodents certainly in and around the kitchen again it’s where the food is
00:06:28
during the winter months especially it gets cold outside the rats the mice want to come in to get warm and guess what
00:06:35
bonus they found a food source so we certainly use the old standby wooden mousetraps and wooden rat traps
00:06:45
but they have built a better rat trap or a better mousetrap these are easier for us they do cost a
00:06:53
little more weed and bark I’m like to use these we will also use the old wooden traps
00:06:59
we have even special baits that we put in traps to attract the rats and the mice better then the old standby cheese
00:07:07
or peanut butter food particles get under the sink or around the sink behind the stove behind the refrigerator
00:07:15
these traps both mouse and rat traps are excellent at a one-time kill and then you know where the carcass is they’re
00:07:25
easy to remove and we that embark on do provide the carcass removal service as well so that kind of sums it up all the
00:07:34
different products or the different pests that we have in and around the kitchen we’re going to move outside and
00:07:41
look at some of the problems and some of the ways to stop pests from entering from the outside of the home let’s go

Questions About Pest Control?

By Vincent Hoss

Do not let your pest problem upset you or make you feel guilty. Then, when you think about the problem, you may have no idea where to start. You are fortunate, though, because you have found a valuable resource full of helpful information. Read on to learn how to get all the pests out of your house!

Do you have a recurring issue with fruit flies? The problem may be with your drain. Put a bit of plastic wrap across the drain for a while to determine whether or not fruit flies appear. If they do, pour some boiling water down your drain and give it a good scrub. This will help keep the flies from breeding in there.

If your home has a problem with brown recluse spiders, use sticky traps to catch them. These harmful spiders spend their time in hard to reach areas that are not easily accessible for chemicals. They tend to hunt for food overnight. Place some traps along your walls and behind the furniture.

Don’t move too quickly when dealing with a bedbug problem. You may believe
they are eradicated, but some may still be lurking. Bedbugs can remain dormant for up to a year. This is the reason it is important to close off all holes in your home’s walls and floors. Then they won’t have a hiding spot.

Repair all of your screens if flying insects are prevalent in your area. These also help eliminate pesky crawling bugs. If there are holes in the screens, be sure to repair them to keep bugs from getting inside.

If you have crevices and cracks located in your home, make sure that you seal them off as soon as you can. These can be an open door for pests that are looking for a way into your home. They won’t be able to come in if their entrance is blocked.

Mice and other rodents love to sleep in campers stored outside throughout the winter months. There are repellents that are natural and effective that keep these things away from your property. These rodent repellents have a rather pleasant smell and are very effective at keeping mice out of your RV.

If you’re a pet owner, don’t use poison to kill rodents. Your dog or cat can come in contact with the poison because of this. These types of bait are also inappropriate if you have children. They might think they are looking at candy.

Before tackling a rodent problem, learn what you can about the specific animal you want to target. Find out what these pests like and what they don’t. Changing your method based on the specific pests will help you get rid of them efficiently.

To get rid of pests forever, you have to find out what you can about them. Know what your pest eats, how long it lives, and what it does and doesn’t like. When you know all you can about a certain pest, you can concoct a plan to rid your home of them.

A collection of recyclables can attract pests. Any recycled materials should be kept outside of the house. If you can’t do this, make sure to rinse everything that goes into the bins. You may also want to get recycling containers that are sealed.

If bugs keep invading your home, inspect every inch of your home and apply caulk to every single crack you find. Sprays and foggers can’t reach deep inside walls and behind cabinets where bugs reside and hide. In addition to cracks in the walls, apply caulk to the area where wall molding and the floor meet, as well as around faucets and pipes.

Hairspray is a way to kill flying bugs within your home. You might be able to spray them with perfume, but avoid contact with your eyes. Avoid using these near flames. If you don’t have any bug spray, these two items will work well.

If you can minimize the clutter, you’ll minimize the insects. There are numerous objects within our homes that can be used as a catch-all, and pests like to hide in the clutter on these objects. Reducing clutter rids your home of nesting places.

Pesticides come with detailed instructions and you should familiarize yourself with them well. If you make a mistake, you could wind up with deadly results. For example, if they recommend that you put down an application each day, do not skip a day. By not properly following the directions, you can end up putting a lot of effort into ridding your home of pests for nothing.

Make sure that flowers and shrubs are planted several feet from your house, as this decreases the number of bugs that enter your home. If at all possible, tile the outside of your home to keep away rodents and bugs. These steps can eliminate the number of bugs attempting to fly into your home through the windows.

If you’ve got wood damage and you are thinking termites are to blame, check out the wood rings. Termites only eat soft wood, so if there is something wrong with the rings, it isn’t termites. If they are intact, then you’ve got termites!

You should now feel confident to tackle any pests that invade your home. Apply the advice from this article to help combat the problem. Soon, your house will again be your own, and you will have no further problems.

Best Pest Control Tips

00:00:02
Hi I’m Ken this is Walt together we’ve got about 70 years experience in the pest control business and we’re going to
00:00:08
talk to you a little bit about general pest control we had a lot of calls people are looking for something that
00:00:14
they just want to kill bugs and generally don’t have any specific problem they may have a few cockroaches
00:00:19
and they have a few spiders they may have silverfish we can deal with these things with a general pest control kit
00:00:26
talked a little bit about what’s in the kit that is so long I always like to start with the liquids that can be used
00:00:31
both of these products can be used inside or outside we generally we use a pump up sprayer most most homeowners
00:00:40
have a sprayer such as this pest control operators and also you can purchase up a real professional sprayer as well a
00:00:50
little expensive but it’ll last a lifetime I always tell people that when you pass your your children will fight
00:00:57
over this one because it’ll still it’ll still be around all over yeah that that would be the liquid this happens to be
00:01:04
something like what’s 20 to 40 gallons yep 10 to 20 gallons these are concentrates you know you’re really not
00:01:11
gonna find this in stores you’re gonna find this in the back of a pest control operators truck something I always like
00:01:18
to have an aerosol an aerosol is fantastic because gosh what if you say something and someone yells at you
00:01:27
there’s a log on my room there’s one of your kids you really want to go mix up yeah that’s right but but you have an
00:01:37
air or someone that you know something here is ready to go yeah you can just hit them like that this happens to be a
00:01:43
bait and you know baits are great especially we get a lot of certain insects
00:01:49
maybe silverfish the big American wrench comes up in the attic that’s a good place for their attic so
00:01:55
sometimes people have an IV that on there and also I always forget one of the things of course forget to tell
00:02:04
people when they’re spraying outside for insects cut those frogs back yeah they don’t need to be touching the side of
00:02:10
the house is if you put a little barrier around you know around the house and you know
00:02:15
and then sex go right up there and they we have enough trouble a lot of comply they are hopping right over the barrier
00:02:24
if you have branches touching the house or anything like what’s occasional pass that we really say and that it could be
00:02:32
different times of the year to that you can see this look at times a year where millipedes are a huge problem we can
00:02:37
deal with those with this kit how about carpenter bees carving is always in the spring or have problems with those oh
00:02:44
definitely can use these products for that Virginia what do they have up there oh there’s a ton of ladybugs and stink
00:02:56
bugs oh yeah that’s gonna do a great job and we got other things too I mean sometimes I this great product would be
00:03:07
spraying for outside for the ladybugs sometimes I like to have an aerosol for inside use and you can use a hat or
00:03:13
something with pyrethrin in there but other than that we this is just something to have in your cabinets to go
00:03:23
to and know it’s labeled for ants but there’s a maybe it’s not something they want to do yeah well I mean it can
00:03:31
handle a minor ant problem and there may be something more specific France that you want to do if you’ve got a
00:03:35
full-blown to get problem and we have videos on the ants too young but you can see what we suggest on ants life as well
00:03:43
I mean this is not I mean that this stuff is labeled for bedbugs on this but it’s not necessary what we’re gonna
00:03:50
suggest for bed right it’s not also German Russian we don’t want to use the nests but those are better products for
00:03:57
that check our video on that German raj a lot of people ask – how do i know when i need to spray well I mean the the
00:04:04
funny answer is when you start seeing bugs or when your wife tells you to yeah the little blue traps that we’ve got a
00:04:11
good thing to place these blue traps around about that yeah there are a good little monitoring tool you put them
00:04:16
under the sink behind some furniture if you find a bug in there you know you need to do something it’s time to get
00:04:21
busy and spry so they’re a really useful tool too well get busy give us a call or the general purpose kit and start your

Pest Control Tips

00:00:17
Hi my name is Kevin Chisholm I am a licensed professional mice control exterminator I’ve been in the pest
00:00:24
control business for over 30 years my company name is maritime pest control and we work out of Edmonton Alberta with
00:00:31
winter coming on now mice are looking for a nice warm place to go so here’s a perfect entry points a garage door they
00:00:38
can get in there we’re nice and warm and they’ll make their home for the winter months
00:00:41
okay here are some mice droppings we have we have about proximately 20 different breeds of Mike’s I think at
00:00:49
this in Edmonton the most common one is the deer mice and and they’re known to give off that disease called hantavirus
00:00:54
so so like when you’re cleaning this up you should use a 50/50 bleach mixture with water that’s the dust product
00:01:02
because this can’t get in your nose and your system and ducting can eventually kill you so this is a rebar going into a
00:01:07
house there is a hole here it’s just very close to might be possibly even seeking they’re smaller in this case but
00:01:15
you can see great treat at home and it’s in the house then your problem start sick so I would lock that up either with
00:01:22
steel wool or silicone mice mice use a firm own trail lock when they win they’re always Ramon so even two years
00:01:31
later that smell will still be there and a new mice can command and go in the same hole they just smell a scent and
00:01:38
they know they think there’s someone another mice in there so they will go in the same hole so these holes should be
00:01:44
fixed this is a poison here we use and we put it in this childproof bait box okay we lock it up I’m gonna crush the
00:01:53
key is the key that opens it now they go in this little hole here and they in their whiskers will find the black box
00:01:58
and mice are very curious old dope they’re always eating like the beaver so they will find that most wasn’t very
00:02:04
easy eat it and then go back their nests and die this is another perfect entry point for a mice ok they can squeeze in
00:02:10
besides the whole of a dime size of a dime so you know so what Harris after I usually offer the mic sir
00:02:16
dad I like doing just putting steel wool in here so I will show you and walk in their whole life
00:02:23
so they cannot get in and they can’t bite true they cannot bite through the steel wall so works really well so the
00:02:32
mice problem is usually gets worse than the wintertime mice want to come in the in the home say last year was the worst
00:02:38
I’ve ever experienced in my 30 years of doing this this year is we had the storm one storm already and but lots of calls
00:02:45
that one week it was just incredibly high they like to come inside when it’s cold of course so that’s when we get
